Big Ticket Gift Ideas for Adventure Lovers

Outdoorsy Gifts for $50 and Under

This set comes with two stainless steel tumblers, a lemon juicer, strainer, and jigger that all stack into one complete set! I love how this shaker takes up such little space, yet totally enhances your camping experience (margarita after a hike? Yes please!).

Solar Powered String Lights ($50)

These string lights are one of my favorite items in my camping box! When strung between two tents, they really bring all the cozy vibes to camp. Plus, they double as a battery bank to charge all your usb-powered devices. The lights recharge via solar power or usb.

AeroPress Travel Coffee Press ($40 $35)

Make a truly fresh and delicious cup of your favorite coffee. The AeroPress is similar to a French press, except it uses air pressure to pass the water through the coffee grounds. Clean-up is as simple as popping the filter into the bin. Not only is this coffee press great for camping and travel, but we use it at home as well!

Sawyer Mini Water Filtration System ($19)

Filter water from streams and lakes while hiking! The Sawyer Mini removes 99.99999% of bacteria from water and can be attached to the hose of a hydration pack, the opening of a water bottle, the included straw, or the included water pouch.

Kuju Pour Over Coffee ($14)

If you have a friend or loved one that is still suffering through a cup of instant coffee just to get a kick of caffeine in the morning while camping, this is the gift for them. Kuju offers the best solution for backpackers, car campers, and travellers alike with individual pour over coffee pouches. Not only is the coffee super delicious (comparable to the coffee you brew at home), but it’s incredibly easy to brew. Just prop the pouch over the sides of your mug and pour hot water over the grounds. Now they’re a happy camper, even in the morning.

Stanley Wine Tumbler Twin Pack ($38 $23)

These insulated tumblers are perfect for keeping beverages hot or cold, making them great for wine, coffee, tea, cocktails… I love that they’re durable (made from stainless steel), yet don’t make a loud clanking noise as you set them down because they have a soft rubber pad on the bottom (this also keeps them from sliding off most surfaces).

Nomadix Travel Towel ($40)

Every adventurer needs a quick-dry towel that packs down small to take on camping trips and travels. These Nomadix ones are long enough to use as a beach towel, while also being compact enough to pack in a backpack or carry-on. I love all the fun and creative designs too.

Superzero Shampoo and Conditioner Bars ($40 $32)

Theses shampoo and conditioner bars are a win-win-win. They eliminate the need to use plastic bottles, making them a sustainable alternative to liquid beauty products. They take up very little space in a bag or backpack, making them the perfect product to take on adventures. Lastly, they are high-quality products— just as nice as the salon products you use at home! Try out the bars for curly hair, dry hair & normal/oily hair.

Black Diamond Headlamp ($36)

Having a good headlamp while camping is a must. There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to hold a flashlight while simultaneously cooking or cleaning up camp. Not to mention that headlamps are great for hiking in the dark and finding your way around while shooting astrophotography.

Paddywax National Park Scented Candles ($33)

These candles are the perfect gift to remind the adventurer in your life of their favorite national park. They come in 7 different scents/parks so you can pick the best match for them!

Faux Fur Pom-Pom Beanie ($36)

Keep your head warm & stylish with one of these cute faux fur pom pom beanies. The perfect companion for a winter hot springs trip!

Roaming America Coffee Table Book ($43)

Filled with gorgeous photography and helpful itineraries, Roaming America, by Renee and Matthew Hahnel documents the couple’s epic road trip to all of the US’s national parks. This coffee table book is bound to spark wanderlust and a desire for adventure.

Portable Battery Bank ($22)

Charge your devices with these compact, yet powerful, battery banks even while hiking in the backcountry. Each battery pack holds at least 2 complete charges for most smartphones and has 2 usb ports for charging devices.

Monopoly Deal Card Game ($6)

This is my favorite travel card game! Monopoly Deal is easy to learn and much quicker than its board game counterpart, so you can be ruining friendships in half the time. This game is just the cards so you don’t need a whole table space to play and they take up very little space in a backpack or camping box.

Outdoorsy Gifts for $100 and Under

Every camper needs a high quality cookset and this one from Stanley is the best! Like all Stanley products, this set is very functional and all 21 pieces nest inside each other, packing down to the size of the 3.5 L pot. In case you couldn’t tell by now, I love a gift that’s practical and space-saving!

Icemule Cooler Backpack ($80)

Coolers are often bulky and not that fun to lug around. I recently tried out this Icemule cooler backpack and it is a gamechanger! Not only does it provide a much more practical way to carry chilled beverages, but it can also double as a dry bag for adventures on the water.

Sea to Summit X-Pot Collapsible Cook Pot ($60)

This pot is probably my favorite cooking item that I have in my camping box! It folds down flat so it takes up hardly any space. I take this one with me backpacking, and it will definitely be getting a permanent home in the van when I move in.

Peak Design Capture Clip ($75 $64)

For all the outdoorsy photographers in your life, this Capture Clip is a must! It attaches to the straps of your backpack and holds your camera there while you hike. The camera easily clicks in and out of the clip, so you know it’s secure and easily accessible for those shots on the trail. Unlike a camera strap, the Capture Clip keeps your camera from swinging around your torso and bouncing off your hips while you hike. Truly revolutionary.

Beyond Yoga High Waisted Leggings ($70)

My favorite brand of leggings! These are so soft and comfortable, yet durable. I have two pairs already and yes, I will be asking for more for Christmas. I live in these things. There are a few different styles available but I particularly love these ones because they also come with deep pockets on either side.

Fjallraven Kanken Mini Backpack ($58)

This pack is so cute! The adventurer in your life will love to have this backpack for when they need to carry a few things with them, but not too much. It’s great for travel, day hikes, or as an alternative to a purse.

ENO DoubleNest Hammock ($85)

There’s something so special about relaxing in a hammock in nature. This Eno Doublenest hammock packs down small but can also fit two people when suspended. Check-out the different colors and patterns and pick the perfect style for your adventurous friend.

Kindle Paperwhite E-reader ($95)

Books are great to have while backpacking or camping, but they take up a lot of space and weigh too much. For the outdoorsy book lover, and e-reader like the Kindle Paperwhite is the perfect gift. Get the 8GB version or the 32GB version.

Big Ticket Gift Ideas for Adventure Lovers

I love my Blundstones! They are so comfortable and I love that they look good whether I’m out on the trails, or at a nice restaurant. I get compliments on my Chelsea boots all the time and will 100% be buying another pair once my current ones wear out (whenever that far off day may be).

Therm-A-Rest Trail Pro Sleeping Pad ($160 $110)

I’m someone who does not sleep well while camping. I’m a side sleeper with bony hips who easily gets cold. The Therm-a-Rest Trail Pro is actually, dare I say it, comfortable. Although it doesn’t pack down as small as some other backpacking sleeping pads, I think a good night’s sleep makes the small amount of extra weight worth it. I use this one for both backpacking and car camping. The Trail Pro is also nice because it self-inflates!

Osprey Hiking Backpacks - Men’s Stratos ($140) or Women’s Sirrus ($105)

There are a lot of companies out there that make backpacks specifically for holding camera gear, but what these types of packs lack is the comfort that a hiking pack provides. Luckily, Osprey has been in the hiking gear game for quite some time and the Stratos & Sirrus packs are perfect for holding camera equipment, snacks, and adventure gear while you’re out on a trail, or traveling. You can even get some camera cubes that fit perfectly inside these packs to transform them into the most comfortable gear backpack.

Helinox Chair Zero ($130)

A camping/backpacking chair that packs down to the size of a water bottle and only weighs 1.2 lbs. This little chair is great to take backpacking or camping!

GoPro Hero 11 ($400)

GoPro has been making the best action camera for the past 18 years so make your adventurer’s dreams come true by gifting them the latest and greatest model. This particular version has upgrades to its sensor, battery, stabilization software, and more! It’s the perfect camera to take on travels or any adventurous activity.

Birkenstock Granada Sandals ($120)

These are my go-to camp shoe! There’s nothing quite like having a comfortable sandal to easily slide on or off at camp. These look stylish on their own but can also be paired with socks for comfort around the campfire.

DJI Mini 3 Drone ($760)

The DJI Mini 3 is the perfect drone for adventurers. It packs down small while still capturing epic images and videos of your outdoor adventures. I also love that the camera can be rotated to take vertical shots, which are perfect for sharing on Instagram and TikTok.

Solar Powered Lantern & Phone Charger ($110)

This beautiful origami lantern is powered by the sun and doubles as a battery bank for charging your devices! It has a few different levels of light so you can find your way around camp, or set-up a cozy vibe. When folded down, the lantern can be charged by the two solar panels on the back, or it can be plugged into an outlet at home.

Patagonia Fleece Pullover ($109)

I love the Patagonia fleece sweaters! Not only are they super comfy, but they look really cute too. These are great for layering up for hikes in the colder months, or just for lounging around at home.
